DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?
GC : I have the Bachelor & Master Degree in Architecture & Design, University of Architecture (Romania), Retail Design Course, Elisava - Barcelona School of Design and Engineering (Spain) Packaging Design Course, Sessions College for Professional Design (U.S.A)

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?
GC : I become a designer because I love art in all it's forms starting form my passion for buildings and cities structures.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?
GC : I choose to be a designer.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?
GC : I work on packaging design projects and this is what I would like to do in the future.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?
GC : I'm not a legend, I'm just a passionate designer and my advice for young designers would be to work hard and put a lot of love into your design work.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?
GC : Hard work and courage to be yourself.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?
GC : I evaluate a design my composition,detail execution, innovating spirit.

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?
GC : A good design is timeless, and bring happiness into people lives, challenge their mind.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?
GC : I work on food & beverage packaging design projects.

DL: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?
GC : A new unique glass bottle for wine.

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?
GC : I just love what I do, and how people feel when they experiment a good design.

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?
GC : I have many - I can name Antoni Gaudí, Brancusi, Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo.

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?
GC : For example I love sculptures made by Brancusi, the minimalist style so modern for its period.

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?
GC : One of my best work till now it's a packaging design project called Saxo - Dry Gin because it explores a new design for the glass bottle, creating a powerful mix between exterior and interior content of the product.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?
GC : Work and explore more.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?
GC : Probably a doctor.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?
GC : Design for me is that element that should be present in all the things that surround us from a street lamp to a well design chair in the kitchen.

DL: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?
GC : My sister was my biggest supporter.

DL: What helped you to become a great designer?
GC : My perseverance helped me become what I am today.

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?
GC : My family considered I should follow a more financially secure road.

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?
GC : In their own style. Be original.

DL: What’s your next design project, what should we expect from you in future?
GC : I hope I will have the chance to create more innovating packaging design projects.

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?
GC : To create packaging design experience that people enjoy and remember.

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?
GC : Good designs.

DL: How does design help create a better society?
GC : It brings values, quality and happiness in the society.

DL: What are you currently working on that you are especially excited about?
GC : I'm working on a concept for a Romanian traditional wine bottle.

DL: Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?
GC : The design projects that gave me more satisfaction where the ones where I could innovate and change the usual image of the product itself.

DL: What would you like to see changed in design industry in the coming years?
GC : I would like to change the usual image of many packaging design products, made them visible for the public, create design experiences.

DL: Where do you think the design field is headed next?
GC : To make new discoveries in the materials sector.

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?
GC : Depending on the project - between a couple of weeks to a couple of month.

DL: When you have a new design project, where do you start?
GC : I always start with a idea, a strong foundation for my project.

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?
GC : Enjoy and work hard.

DL: Do you think design sets the trends or trends set the designs?
GC : The best projects have the power to create the trend or break it.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?
GC : It helps me bring my ideas to life.

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?
GC : I mainly use Design Software for Illustration,3D modeling and rendering.

DL: What is the role of the color, materials and ambient in design?
GC : They have a very important role of giving visual direction to a composition.

DL: What do you wish people to ask about your design?
GC : How is made?

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?
GC : This is a great inspiration !

DL: Who is your ideal design partner? Do you believe in co-design?
GC : Yes. I didn't found them yet.

DL: Which people you interacted had the most influence on your design?
GC : Other design artist that I collaborate with.

DL: Which books you read had the most effect on your design?
GC : Old legends books, where I get to imagine and create unique worlds in my mind.

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?
GC : Working and exploring design options.

DL: Irrelative of time and space, who you would want to meet, talk and discuss with?
GC : Leonardo Da Vinci.

DL: How do you feel about all the awards and recognition you had, is it hard to be famous?
GC : I am not famous, I enjoy receiving awards because they are a recognisation of my design work.

DL: What is your favorite color, place, food, season, thing and brand?
GC : I like all the colors, Spain and Italy, pasta with sea food, spring.

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?
GC : When people enjoy my work.

DL: When you were a little child, was it obvious that you would become a great designer?
GC : No.

DL: What do you think about future; what do you see will happen in thousand years from now?
GC : I hope we will protect our planet, that it will be more green that it is now.

DL: Please tell us anything you wish your fans to know about you, your design and anything else?
GC : Do everything with a little bit of pleasure.
