Interview with Duval H. Patterson at Wednesday 26th of October 2016:

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?
DP : Iam not a professionally trained designer. I have a B.A. and I worked in the criminal justice system as a police officer, retired and became a crime scene artist at a large law firm in N.Y.C. I was always into drawing,painting and designing. I'm basically self taught , but have attended classes at Parsons School Of Design and The Art Students League. After I retired, I got into my art full time....on a part time basis. (smile)

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?
DP : Designing was necessary in pursuing some artistic endeavors.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?
DP : A good design is ageless.

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?
DP : My héros in the design world are Frank Lloyd Wright,Mies Van Der Rohe, Milton Glaser and Charles Eames

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?
DP : Two of my favorite designs are the Eames lounge chair and the Barcelona chair.

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?
DP : My greatest design would be my Chesset. original,clean,simple.
