Interview with govy at Friday 21st of October 2016:

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?
AG : I'm fundamentally an autodidact and been a visual artist for almost 20 years now.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?
AG : anything that challenges me is a motivation, a new concept, a technical issue, any problem will start make my mind tick.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?
AG : I mainly design unique and customized product. maybe it's because of my art background. I love the idea to create an unique variation from a singular concept.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?
AG : follow your dreams and wild ideas. never fear but fear itself!

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?
AG : if you see a design, use it, and do not think "it would have been better if..."

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?
AG : improve the human experience itself. great design should help everyone doing the most simple and complex tasks, faster, better and more efficiently.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?
AG : an AI android

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?
AG : stay true to myself. follow my dreams and stop being afraid to just do that. life is short, better enjoy it!

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?
AG : Leonardo da Vinci

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?
AG : learn and have the courage to be free.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?
AG : I'm hardly a designer.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?
AG : design is functional art. it's the perfect mix of science and art.

DL: What helped you to become a great designer?
AG : Kickstarter and my backers helped me a ton!

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?
AG : being taken seriously.

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?
AG : create something everyone will use on a daily basis. and create something that could inspire other people.

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?
AG : to have all the answers! but I have none...

DL: How does design help create a better society?
AG : with efficiency. design is a tool to help us evolve into more civilised people.

DL: What are you currently working on that you are especially excited about?
AG : currently working on my SpaceTime Coordinates Memento. I'm excited to see many people are excited by this project!

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?
AG : never be afraid.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?
AG : technology is extremely important with my designs. without it I would not have been able to make any of my projects. and without it I surely would never have thought about creating them.

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?
AG : that humanity might still have a chance.

DL: Who is your ideal design partner? Do you believe in co-design?
AG : someone who believes in my ideas and will do everything to help me make an idea, a real tangible thing.

DL: Which people you interacted had the most influence on your design?
AG : users.

DL: Which books you read had the most effect on your design?
AG : The Andy Warhol Diaries.

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?
AG : by practicing over and over.

DL: Irrelative of time and space, who you would want to meet, talk and discuss with?
AG : Tesla.

DL: Please tell us a little memoir, a funny thing you had experienced as a designer?
AG : now, people take me seriously.

DL: When you were a little child, was it obvious that you would become a great designer?
AG : I wanted to be a pirate, an astronaut, a spy, a detective, an inventor, a painter. then I settle my mind of being a writer so I could do all the above. but I've drifted from writing, even though I wish to come back to it. I think it was obvious I would be a creator of some kind.

DL: What do you think about future; what do you see will happen in thousand years from now?
AG : AI will make humanity evolve so fast. we will have more time and energy for pure creation (vs just surviving). I have high hopes for the future.

DL: Please tell us anything you wish your fans to know about you, your design and anything else?
AG : I've been diagnosed on the Autism Spectrum in 2013. so maybe I had to face more challenges because of that.
